A few of you might know that I started accepting commissions earlier this year for both pet and people portraits, drawn realistically in pencil. I've been pleasantly surprised at the level of interest, and the amount of commissions so far. I've also started drawing celebrity portraits. I drew the late Don Rickles about a month after he passed away, and just yesterday completed a portrait of Glen Campbell. My hope is to raise money for each of their charities by selling prints.
I was invited to the Don Rickles memorial service in June by his wife Barbara. The portrait was displayed at the service, and I had the privilege of meeting several celebrities. Below is a photo of yours truly, with Don's wife, Barbara Rickles.
It was a surreal experience, and an honor to be involved.
I'm still in the process of getting in touch with Glen Campbell's direct family. With my own mom in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, I'd love to sell prints of the portrait to help raise money for their "I'll Be Me Alzheimer's Fund." There has been a lot of interest online, so I believe a good amount of money could be raised.
In addition to these ventures, I'm also accepting commissions for both people and pet portraits.
Here's hoping you're having a great summer!
